1st International Workshop on Green Construction
NUPECS, 21-23 July, 2017.

The 1st International Workshop on Green Construction will take place at Nucleus of Research in Engineering, Science and Sustainability of Semiarid  (NUPECS). The NUPECS is located in rural area of the city Caiçara do Rio do Vento in Rio Grande do Norte State – Brazil. The 1st International Workshop on Green Construction will address key elements of: construction using  PET plastic bottles and  glass bottles; Education and Sustainable Culture; Experiments in Organic Architecture; Sustainability in Arid and Semi-arid Regions;  Technologies of water storage; Sustainable Technologies in the layout of physical space; Technologies to combat erosion; analogies between arid and semiarid regions and Mars. All these topics are of great importance of learning for students, researchers and teachers interested in Sustainability theme. The course will be composed of theoretical and applied modules and will address the key elements of the green construction and case studies from around the world. The 1st International Workshop on Green Construction will feature interactive activities based in the process of construction of new facilities using recycled material in the area of Nucleus of Research in Engineering, Science and Sustainability of Semiarid  (NUPECS).
Our lecturers will include the Brazilian leader in the research field of sustainable construction: Dr  Julio Francisco Dantas de Rezende (Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte – UFRN (www.juliorezende.com).
The course is designed for multiple points of entry and could be helpful for students, RESEARCHERS, government experts, representatives of international organizations and business. The course will give participants an opportunity to explore key methodologies for ecological-economic analysis and to apply these to various case studies. The 1st International Workshop on Green Construction based in the Nucleus of Research in Engineering, Science and Sustainability of Semiarid  (NUPECS) attracted participants from schools, universities, government and companies.
It is also able to apply participants interested in present their experiences related with sustainable construction composing the 1st International Workshop on Green Construction program.
The participants in the Workshop will receive certificate of Sustainability Lab with a 30 hours of classes.

The registration fee includes:
(1) Textbook Sustainable construction in Brazilian Semiarid;
(2) Lecture (PDF; USB stick);
(3) Transfer from Natal to NUPECS, Caiçara do Rio do Vento (RN);
(4) Accomodations (two nights);
(5) One month post-consulting related with sustainable construction;
(6) All meals: ice-breaker (Friday morning), lunch (Friday to Sunday), course dinner (Friday to Sunday);
(7) Organic snacks, coffee and tea (Friday to Sunday).

The course is limited in 14 participants.
